Allison is at Youth Scotland HQ!
Mon, 23rd Jan 2023Our Castle Douglas Team Officer has just completed a ‘How to improve your facilitation skills’ course with Youth Scotland.
Last week, Allison headed up to Edinburgh to complete her second day of training for her course with Youth Scotland. Part of the aims of the course were to supply attendees with a simple framework to support them to design any training session, and for attendees to design and deliver training that attends to the different ways people learn. Senior Development Worker & Trainer Julie Brown introduced us to a variety of theories, creating positive learning environments and resources available. This included putting the group into working groups to develop training sessions of their own. On the second day, the groups broke back into groups and continued working on their sessions session before delivering them to the rest of the attendees.
About the course, Allison said:
“Personally I found this brilliant as I was being introduced to so many new icebreakers I had never heard of before – all fun! This has to be the best course I have attended – everyone was so friendly and understanding, so much so we are planning to meet up again later in the year! I am looking forward to implementing some of the games/ice breakers into our programme. A big thanks to Youth Scotland for providing a fantastic venue too.”
We would like to say thank you to Youth Scotland for putting on such an enjoyable and helpful course, and say well done to Allison for completing her training!
