Awesome Training from AUsome Training

Tue, 5th Mar 2024

On Monday the 4th of March we hosted an all staff development day at the Community Centre in Castle Douglas. During the day our trainer Scott from AuSome Training and Autistically Scott helped us explore: Good Practice for Inclusive Learning, How Autistic Minds Work, Diverse Ways of Accessing Information and Communication.

This staff development day was made possible through funding from the Youth Work and Adult Learning (CLD) Workforce Development Fund.

The training linked back to the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child and to our ethos of a person-centred approach in our practice.  It helped us better understand how to approach learning with the young people on our programme and gave us the tools to continue to improve on our practice.

Staff and trustees took part in the staff development day and the feedback showed that the day was a great success.
