BLP Becomes Disability Confident Employer

Thu, 8th Sep 2022

BLP is now a Disability Confident Level 2 Employer!

This is a great achievement and all the Staff at the Better Lives Partnership are very proud.

Our CEO, Carolyn Kennedy, had this to say “Better Lives Partnership is delighted to be a Disability Confident Employer. Working with young people with autism and additional barriers within our Bridge to Employment Programme we know the skills, talent, loyalty and positive work ethic that disabled people can bring to any organisation. It is important that everyone can access employment opportunities and be enabled to secure and retain their job of choice. We would encourage other employers to consider joining the Disability Confident Scheme ensuring that disabled people in Dumfries and Galloway have the opportunity to succeed at work and for businesses to prosper.”

Disability Confident organisations play a leading role in changing attitudes for the better. They’re changing behaviour and cultures in their own businesses, networks, and communities, and reaping the benefits of inclusive recruitment practices. The Disability Confident scheme helps employers recruit, retain, and develop some great people, as well as helping to identify the employers who are committed to inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
