First Aid training for our young people!
Fri, 3rd Mar 2023Yesterday in Castle Douglas, we were joined by Annie’s Aiders for some First Aid training.
Annie’s Aiders is a local First Aid training provider, based in Castle Douglas. They joined us yesterday to give our young people some basic First Aid training. In the session, we covered a lot of material such as what equipment is found in a basic First Aid kit and how to use it, and how to treat and bandage different kinds of wounds. Our young people got stuck into the practical training and practiced how to perform CPR and how to help someone who is choking.
During the training, some of our staff and young people were also given trauma stage makeup creating different injuries and wounds that our young people then had to identify and then treat. This was a great opportunity for our young people to learn some practical and valuable skills.
