Our Community Art Workshops Come to An End
Tue, 31st May 2022As part of our Bridge to Creative programme, we have been offering a wide selection of creative workshops for the community!
Our Bridge to Creative programme is supported, by Creative Communities led by Inspiring Scotland, and enables us to offer our young people at Better Lives Partnership a way to explore and develop their creative practices. This programme is offered across our sites in Dumfries, Castle Douglas, and Stranraer.
While we have been offering a variety of workshops in our weekly dedicated Bridge to Creative sessions, we have also been striving to offer people a person-centred approach to developing their creative practices within the local communities of Dumfries and Galloway. As part of this Project BLP has commissioned artists to do a series of workshops for communities across Dumfries and Galloway. These workshops were open to anyone over the age of 12 and are particularly aimed at those who have additional barriers to accessing art in the community.
We were delighted to be able to offer a wide variety of workshops hosted by Bea Last, Diana Hamilton, and Frank Hayes. These workshops have included Decoupage, Abstract Photography, Kandinsky Colour Wheels, and Elmer Elephant Deco-patch.
Over the course of these workshops, we have had a great time offering art to the wider community and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the artists we commissioned who helped made art accessible over in Dumfries and Galloway.
