Ghostly Stories, Face painting, and more!
Wed, 27th Oct 2021Since opening its doors for our young people in September, B2E @ Nithsdale and Annandale is enjoying a whole host of activities, and Halloween was no different!
To celebrate the spooky season, we enjoyed a Halloween party in our Dumfries workroom, with games, music, and lots of sweet treats. Some of our young people also developed an interest in special effects make-up as they painted the faces of the team and young people in preparation for a walking ghost tour of Crichton Memorial Church.
We joined award-winning, Dumfries based creators of a unique range of ghost and local history tours; Mostly Ghostly! This team of historians joined together in 2008 as the region’s first paranormal activity research team and launched their unique ghost walking tour across Dumfries in 2010. We were delighted to join them on a particularly dark and stormy night for their Crichton Crypt tour and spent the evening learning about the origins of the Crichton Estate and we even had a meeting with its founder, Elizabeth Crichton herself.
We spent some time exploring the crypts and sat around a lantern listening to stories of peculiar activity, we had such a good time, and we are very grateful to the Mostly Ghostly team for being so accommodating for our group. So much so that we very much look forward to exploring the rest of Dumfries on the other tours that they host.
