Final Week of the Summer Scheme in Castle Douglas

Thu, 28th Jul 2022

The Castle Douglas team rounds off their part in the Summer Scheme with a Garden, a Train, and some Spoons!

Threave Gardens!

Last Tuesday, we went on a trip to Threave Gardens and Estate!

On one of the hottest days we’ve ever had, we went out into the sun and shade of nature in Threave Gardens! From basking in the sun of their open landscape to resting in the shadows of their Garden of Contemplation, we made the most of our summer day. Threave Gardens is beautiful and well looked after by the National Trust For Scotland! We even saw some tadpoles and newts.

A Day in Dumfries!

All smiles even when disaster strikes!

Last Wednesday, the Castle Douglas team took a trip into Dumfries, had a short train journey to Annan and back, and had a delicious meal at Spoons. The original plan was to go to Carlisle and take part in an Escape Room but plans changed due to problems with the trains. However, thanks to the brilliant people at Red Herring Escape Rooms, we have been able to reschedule our great escape for September! And a huge thank you to our young people for still making it a lovely day.

We hope our young people in Castle Douglas had a wonderful summer scheme, we can’t wait to see you back soon.
