Disability Confident Conference

Fri, 16th Oct 2026

We attended the Disability Confident Conference at Queen of the South Community Trust

Did you know that Better Lives Partnership are a Disability Confident Level 3 Leaders— the highest level you can achieve?

Debbie gave a fantastic speech about what this means to us and why it’s so important that we continue to make sure we are as inclusive and accessible as possible. She also spoke about Better Lives Partnership Dumfries, who we are and what we do, before inviting young person Connor up on stage to share a young person’s perspective.

And, of course, Connor absolutely smashed it! In his own words, before attending BLP, he would never have dreamed that he’d be able to achieve something like this. Seeing how far he has come is just incredible, and we couldn’t be prouder!

We then had a delicious lunch thanks Queen of the South Cafe

It was also lovely to see John Cooper MP and Finlay Carson For Galloway And West Dumfries there too.
