About Us
We became an SCIO in June 2016, with the aim of developing and delivering a range of opportunities for young people who have autism or other similar additional support needs as well as their families, carers, and practitioners who support them. We aim to support our young people to achieve their personal positive outcomes, and we work with other individuals and organisations to ensure the best choices are available to our young people to achieve those.

Better Lives charitable purposes are:
- The advancement of education
- The advancement of citizenship or community development (including rural or urban regeneration)
- The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture, or science
- The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the persons.
- The promotion of equality and diversity
- The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantages.
How does coming to BLP help our young people?
Young people who have attended our programme have gained accredited qualifications and have reported feeling that they have gained confidence and found a sense of purpose.
Many of our young people value having a place to go, meeting new people, and making friends. Each of our young people have their own personal goals they want to achieve by attending.
For some those positive outcomes are learning independent living skills, gaining a work placement, or getting into college. While for others it is learning new skills, becoming more confident at socialising, or seeing new places through travel training.

Our Programmes
In our locations, we run a variety of weekly sessions through our Bridge 2 Employment and Programme. This includes support for young people in developing their own business and the opportunity to explore creative practices. The Programme helps our young people develop personal positive goals and achieve them!
