Our Stranraer site opened its doors and first welcomed young people into the group on Monday 20th January 2020.
Over the years, the group has gone from strength to strength and has achieved some fantastic results and created some wonderful memories.
We deliver Bridge 2 Employment, and Outreach to Schools with a strong focus on Independent Living activities, community projects and environmental projects. We help provide support with Open University courses. The whole team is passionate about a person-centred approach to learning.
We offer a varied and wide range of ASDAN courses for our young people to choose to work on as part of their independent learning. These courses include Football, Uniformed Organisations, Computing, Expressive Arts, PSHE, Environment, Gardening, English and Science to name just a few.
Our young people are able to choose a topic they are interested in or that they see as beneficial to their future employability. This not only engages them positively in their learning but allows them to reach their full potential!
#TeamStranraer are Awarding Wigtownshire’s ‘Educator of the Year 2022’
Better Lives Partnership Stranraer is proud to have been the recipient of Awarding Wigtownshire’s ‘Educator of the Year 2022’. On Saturday the 11th of June, Awarding Wigtownshire hosted an evening ceremony recognising and celebrating the exceptional achievements of businesses, individuals, charities, and volunteers in Wigtownshire’s exceptional community.
Our Stranraer site were awarded Educator of the Year for the incredible work we do to support our young people in achieving their goals.

Our B2E@Wigtownshire programme is incredibly fortunate to be a part of the fantastic community in Stranraer, and we spend a lot of our time getting involved with local causes and groups.
This has included working with Stranraer Development Trust and Dumfries and Galloway College to create pieces for the art trail that promotes our group’s talent and creativity!
This was part of Stranraer DevelopmentTrust ‘Stransforming’ Stranraer Project with an art trail including multimedia elements by local artists and youth for creating more positive and inviting spaces about the town.
Our young people have also worked with the What We Do Now Project in Stranraer, supported by The Stove Network and contributed to the Song for Stranraer with their artwork. Check out the video here:

Better Lives Partnership Stranraer has a fantastic wee team, and our staff and young people have a wonderful sense of community. We are able to support our young people through our B2E programme including short ASDAN courses that suit their skills and interests. We have also supported young people with Open University Courses.
