BLP Helps Transform Stranraer!

Thu, 19th May 2022

Stranraer DevelopmentTrust has been ‘Stransforming’ Stranraer with an art trail including multimedia elements by local artists and youth for creating more positive and inviting spaces in the town.

A total of 14 of our young people 14 took part in the Stransform project and helped create more positive and inviting spaces in Stranraer. Part of this project was #TeamStranraer’s visit to the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow on the 14th of February. During this visit, the young people were able to gain some artistic inspiration as we were given a tour around the gallery and the opportunity to practice a printmaking technique.

Since our visit #TeamStranraer has been working with the Development Trust and Dumfries and Galloway College to create pieces for the art trail which promotes the talent and creativity of our wonderful group! The art trail has now been officially launched and we are hoping that everyone will be inspired by our work.

Maps for the Art Trail are available at the Gateway to Galloway Visitor Centre and a video of the pieces installed can be seen on Stranraer Development Trust’s YouTube: (1) Stransform Widescreen – YouTube

The artwork created by the young people was done during their Bridge 2 Creative sessions which are supported by Creative Communities, Inspiring Scotland.
