Celebrating the women who inspire us!
Wed, 8th Mar 2023Today is International Women’s Day, and to mark the occasion we have asked our young people about the women who inspire them.
For over 100 years on March 8th International Women’s Day is celebrated globally. It is a day to recognise the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. But it is also a day to focus attention on the work that still needs to be done to achieve gender equality. As part of this celebration, we have asked our young people to tell us about the women in their lives that inspire them, and why.
The young people picked a wide variety of people who inspired them from Jonny choosing our very own Kerry, one of our Castle Douglas Support Workers, for her support with his business unit to Tracey choosing Laura, one of our young people, for being such a good friend to Laura’s own choice of Taylor Swift. While in Stranraer our young people discussed the amazing women who make up #TeamStranraer, as well as amazing female directors such as Bryce Dallas Howard and Deborah Chow.
