First Week of the Summer Scheme in Stranraer
Fri, 15th Jul 2022Stranraer started their Summer Scheme this week with a splash and some sports!
Let’s Get Wet!
On Tuesday, both the staff and the young people braved the waters and mastered the sea by kayaking and power-boating and paddle-boarding, hosted by the Stranraer Water Sports Association (SWSA) as part of the “Let’s Get Wet” sessions. On the shore, they had great games of football and rounders.
A huge thank you to Fin and Max who led this session and did an amazing job at providing a fantastic experience for everyone.
Trip to Portpatrick
On Wednesday, Team Stranraer travelled to Portpatrick!
They ventured up to the great and ancient Dunskey Castle. The castle itself was amazing, but so was the fantastic view; we even saw birds nesting along the cliff edges as we walked.
They also had a great time at Portpatrick’s Pitch and Putt! Afterwards, they settled down for some Ice Cream and Slushies on the warm and sunny summery day.
What a brilliant first week for Stranraer! Let’s hope the weather stays well for this week coming.
