Halloween with Dumfries

Mon, 14th Nov 2022

This spooky season, all the sites at Better Lives Partnership got into the spirit of things! #BLPTeamDumfries had a terrifyingly terrific month of Halloween!

Early in October, Team Dumfries got into the spooky mood by making some wonderful Halloween-themed masks with our creative practitioner, Bea Last.

With Halloween being on the first day back after the holidays, Team Dumfries decided to have an early party before breaking up, with their spooky celebrations happening all the way back on Monday the 10th of October.

All the staff and many of the young people dressed in their most eerie of attire and had a big party. There was pizza, chops, and Panzanella from Ricos who very kindly made our food early for us so that we could go out to our next event.

After the party, Team Dumfries literally got with the Halloween spirit by going out on a haunt with Mostly Ghostly Tours! We arrived at Cruck Cottage at Torthorwald, Dumfries, and were given a warm welcome by a beautiful peat-burning fire from Bill Lawson of the Crucks Cottage Heritage Association. Mostly Ghostly were their in all their splendor, and Kathleen, John, and Mary told us all about the local area, setting the scene for all the ghost stories.

It was a wonderfully spooky adventure! A huge thank you to Mostly Ghostly and the Crucks Cottage Heritage Association for an amazing experience, our young people loved it and are looking forward to another spooky adventure.
